A house fire May 20 on Neufer Street in Elyria, displaced four people, according to the Elyria Fire Department. The American Red Cross of North Central Ohio responded to the fire along with Elyria Fire Department providing help for the family of four who was displaced, according to a news release. The Red Cross provided assistance, such as temporary lodging, food and clothing for the immediate needs of two adults and two children, the release stated. Red Cross volunteers will continue to help the family, providing recovery assistance, resources and referrals to community partners, according to the release.
